Novant Credentialed Vendor Doula's
Abby Corbett
Bio:
Hi, I’m Abby Corbett – a birth doula, educator, wife, and mother (to 3 little ones). My passion is in educating and inspiring others. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked for a few years teaching high school, tutoring, coaching girls’ soccer, and as an editor. I’ve lived in North Carolina for 9 years now, but I grew up in Virginia. There is truth behind the phrase “Virginia is for lovers” because that is where I met and married my husband (Logan) in 2009. Fast forward a few years later, I became pregnant with our first child and dived right into the birth community – taking childbirth education classes, touring hospitals/birth centers, researching baby gear, creating a birth vision, and finding a supportive birth team. I gave birth to my son in 2011 with the unwavering support of my labor coach (my husband) and a trained, compassionate midwife by my side. The experience changed my life – it was sacred and beautiful! It allowed me to bear witness to the strength of my mind and body to birth a baby AND to witness the invaluable strength of having continuous support in a birth space. I have since birthed two more babies (girls!) into the family, born in 2013 and 2016. After my youngest was born, a spark ignited inside of me and it shined forth when I finally realized my calling as a birth doula. I am truly humbled and honored to use my voice, my hands, and my heart to inspire women and their families as they bring their babies into the world. I believe every woman deserves a doula and I welcome the opportunity to facilitate that.
